It's 6pm on a Monday evening. Joel got an unexpected day off because of the rain. I kept Alexander home from school for the same reason.
We were all on mine and Joel's bed. I'm in my Pajamas. Xander and Joel are in trackpants and tshirts, and Sam in a one piece sleeper.
There's no TV or even music on in our home (rare for us not to have music). The only sound is the out of control giggling of our first born as he says the word 'cow' in as many silly ways as he can.
Samuel is on all fours, rocking back and forth, "Aah-ing" each time as his head hits the bedhead (we have put a pillow there, we know this child well. Homer Simpson anyone?).
I've got the giggles too, over both of my boys. I'm struck suddenly by the pure silliness. My gifted child is being a total dork, laughing himself into an asthma attack. Joel and I can't stop laughing, and he thinks we're laughing at him, which is making him worse, which is making us worse...well, you get the picture. My baby is banging his head repeatedly, seemingly forgetting the thud at the end (he's laughing his little head off, squealing away). Joel looks like he thinks we're all insane.
Maybe we are. But gosh, what an amazing day. We've accomplished literally nothing of any substance all day.
I'm feeling so lazy I've practically melted into my chair. Far too lazy to cook, Joel's off to buy takeout. My house looks like a bomb has hit it, and I'll have to catch up tomorrow.
And if you think I wouldn't love to do it all again tomorrow, you're out of your mind.
Sigh. There are days I just love my life!
What did you get up to today?
3 loads of washing, 2 boys, my mother, 24sq's of vacuuming and mopping, cooked dinner, bath boys, shopping away, playdoh, drawing, outside play ... oh and COFFEE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur machine is fixed, yay!
