Today, our firstborn turned into Captain Alexander, the friendly pirate. He talked about it all day yesterday (because one of his friends dressed as a pirate to school yesterday), so I decided to make him a little pirate hat, spyglass and take him on a treasure hunt.
So, decorated an old shoe box, turned it into a treasure chest. Filled it with treasure (chocolate coins,M&Ms, playdoh, chalk, glitter pens, notebooks, bubbles, the things he loves) and put together an old treasure map.
Stained it with a teabag, burned the edges and allowed it to dry overnight. Today, was our treasure hunt, and he had such a lovely time.
Got a couple of pics, and the smile on his face says it all. I think we made a memory. :)
Speaking of making memories...Samuel's first ice cream cone (I know, I know. Bad mama).
Needless to say, straight into the bath after this. :)
What a lovely idea for Alexander. He is so cute, and that smile on his face is just precious.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not a bad mama, samuel looks like he is enjoying that ice cream so much. lol.
Love the pictures. :)
I love the idea of the treasure hunt and Alexander the Friendly Pirate! What lovely pictures, an adorable boy!
ReplyDeleteYou're not a bad mama for letting Samuel have an icecream! He looks as though he loves it!
I must be a bad Mama too because Francesca LOVES her little ice cream cone treats - I love watching her enjoy every mouthful!
ReplyDeleteAlexander has the most gorgeous, cheeky smile. He is soooo handsome!
Not a bad Mumma, just more memories.
ReplyDeleteI can bet you made a memory Mel...an awesome little treasure :)
You are incredible. Such a fantastic idea. I'm now inspired to do the same for Ned (pirate mad about Peter Pan's Captin Hook).
