And I knew the beat

And I knew the beat because it matched your own beat.
I still remember it from our chest to chest
and feet to feet

I said I knew the beat coz it matched your own beat
And it's become my engine, my own source of heat.

Joel and I both heard this song for the first time on the same day, last week. Both of us thought of each other. There have been so many chest to chest and feet to feet embraces as he soothes me. There's nothing sexual in these, but it is almost more intimate.

  1. Beautiful post Melissa - and I agree the time my hubby spoons me and caress my arm and wraps his leg over mine and snuggles into my neck because I am in pain or hurting are far more intimate than so called 'making love' because in those moments his sole purposes to to love me, I am the centre of his attention. I am so glad you have a man you can do the same for you, because I know how much it means to me to have it done and how it heals me and how close we become in those moments. Hugs from Perth xxx

  3. I always find intimacy is mostly felt in non-sexual embraces/ways. Took me a number of years to figure out the difference. When I don't have it, I miss it. It's my preferred method of connection these days :)

I know we're all busy, so the fact you've taken time out of your day to comment and connect with me means so much.
