I am completely uninspired today. My eyes are playing up and I'm oh so tired, so nothing profound from me. I'm only posting today because of NaBloPoMo this time.
I've been meaning to do a frilly, fluffy post with some beautiful dresses. I went to Simone's site this morning and lo and behold, she has picked exactly the same theme as mine - Ruffles.
Thought about changing, but really, you can't have too many ruffles at the moment? Soft, feminine, glorious layers of fabric. What could be more beautiful?
Completely indulgent, they are like the modern version of Anne Shirley's Puffed Sleeves.
I know you know the ones I mean.

Dreamy sigh. I loved Matthew.

I just hate the bottom of this dress, but am in love with the top. So feminine.

Isn't this the sort of thing you'd just want to be wearing near the Eiffel Tower?
This one makes me think of my friend Renee. I could absolutely see her in this, dancing in the streets in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure what it is,but this is one of my favourite dresses ever. You can't even see all of it, but am in love with it all the same. It may (along with the above Eva Mendes shots, be what started my latest fixation on all things girlish.
This famous Oscar de la Renta worn by SJP. I love it!
Vintage Oscar de la Renta (He's one of my very favourite designers).

Too adorable! I want this for Madeline now!

For Miss Luka!
For Zemirah. Have you met my niece Zemirah yet? I'm not sure I've introduced you. Remind me to do a 'nieces' post soon.

There is not a lot I wouldn't do for these shoes....

Psst....Ave...
Vintage lemon yellow dress - circa 1950!

Vintage ruffled gown.
Ruffled baby Mary Janes for Thumbelina.
You know what? In the hour (I need to get out more) it has taken me to put this together..my mood has shifted. I feel lighter and happier. See, ruffles are like magic!

*Sighing...*
ReplyDeleteI love the frilly knickers!
ReplyDeleteWow. Very ruffly and frilly. I want to know how people can walk in some of those long ones.
ReplyDeleteI bought some frilly knickers recently and they instantly put me in a better mood, except they're black so not really girly. My girly.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, wow!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that we both chose ruffles today.
You have some amazing images....love those blue shoes and the underwear too....not that my bottom would look as cute as that of course ;)
Have a lovely day!
Simone :)
Ruffle overdose! Love the blue shoes and the Eva dress.
ReplyDeleteHee hee, puffed sleeves!
ReplyDeleteThat shot of Eva is stunning! Sigh, if only I had the body to pull off something feminine & lovely like that.
