Enchanting

Tonight marked the beginning of an era. A time I have looked forward to my entire life, and certainly since I first saw two lines appear, signalling my impending motherhood.

Tonight, I started to read Enid Blyton to my son. Alexander and I began the Faraway Tree Series. He shivered, snuggled up in bed with me, convered in measles, listless and wheezing. Not the most perfect introduction for my sweet boy, but I'm beyond thrilled.

  1. Lovely :) My 8 y.o son has just started reading this too on his own which is spcial for me, partially because it is an old childhoood fave as well, but alos because he had trouble initially with learning to read and is finally getting the hang of it and beginning to love it :)

I hope Alexander is all recovered soon :)

  2. I remember my first-grade teacher reading the class 'Up the Faraway Tree'. I'm looking forward to being able to read them to my children if I ever get to have any.

    Get well soon, Alexander!

  4. Enid Blyton was and still is my favorite childrens author & now my 11 year old daughter also loves her books.

A timeless classic! I'm so glad that Alexander is getting to enjoy the magic of the faraway tree & the fairy folk.

  10. Just popping in mid blog catch up to say I can't wait to do this with miss A either...so much so that Santa or one of his minions will be bringing miss A the very first book of the series this Christmas.

Hope your beautiful boy is feeling better and that you are doing well too xx

I know we're all busy, so the fact you've taken time out of your day to comment and connect with me means so much.
