I'm going with the two songs that are on constant replay in my home this week. Since I've stopped driving, Joel's been in charge of the car stereo (as I'm so rarely in the car) and is having all of this new influence over (particularly) Alexander's musical tastes. Dammit. :D
So. He's introduced my boys to the Counting Crows. I'll play each of their favourites.
Alexander is obsessed with this song. Not one of Joel's favourites, not one that Joel ever tried to impress on him, but for some reason, Alexander fell in love with it. Went home, printed out lyrics, put it on his iPod and won't.stop.playing and singing it.
Omaha - (I asked Alexander if he knew where Omaha was {I know, nerd mother, always looking for a way to teach him a new piece of trivia}. He looked at me, and at the same moment, he and Joel said "Somewhere in the middle of America"...pfft. Quoting lyrics at me, they thought they were so funny). :D
And Sammy's - Mr Jones (The only part Sammy knows really is "Mr Jones and me...na na na na na na) but he sings it, randomly ALL the time, trying to make us laugh. It works. Every.freaking.time).

ReplyDeleteI actually love the song Mr. Jones! ;) In our house, music is ruled by ME! The Mama! As for driving, well, depends on who is driving at the time, If it's me then yes my songs get played, and the kids love the stuff I play. If it's the hubs...then...it depends. Sometimes it can get a little bit loud and nostalgic.

Mr Jones is an all-time favourite of mine, and I've been wanting to share it on Sunday Sesh, but haven't been able to think of something to pair it with.
